31 Merrill, S M The Second Coming of Christ: Considered in its Relation to The Millennium, The Resurrection, and the Judgment
Appomattox Co., VA SBSS 2015 1519757581 First soft cover New Georgia 12 pt.
The Second Coming of Christ deals with what are called “last or end things.” Perhaps there is no other facet of theological study that has so much disagreement. Last things are also called eschatology. Eschatology is made up of two Greek words that translate into “a study of last or end things.” Today a venture into such a study is often considered on par with swimming in shark-infested waters while the sharks are in a feeding frenzy. However, there is a legitimate importance to what God has said about “last or end things.” One always needs to be careful when handling sacred Scripture. God’s Word is never to be ignored because some have gone to extremes or have even become cultic in their views; that is also true of eschatology. The true believer should desire to know what the Bible is teaching. 208 pages

Spout Spring, Va Society for Biblical and Southern Studies 2011 0963973053 First Soft cover New 5.5 x 8
The hymn has been of great importance to the people in the South throughout their history. In life and in death the ministry of psalms and hymns has been a vital part of the fabric of life. Little is known about Southern Hymnology and almost nothing is known about Confederate Hymnology. A gospel minister observing the Confederate Army at worship declared, The voices which now poured forth their strength in singing the songs of Zion had shouted in the charge and the victory. One Southern minister, theological educator and hymn writer remonstrated, We cannot afford to lose these old hymns. They are full of the Gospel; they breathe the deepest emotions of pious hearts in the noblest strains of poetry; they have been tested and approved by successive generations of those that loved the Lord; they are the surviving fittest ones from thousands of inferior productions; they are hallowed by abundant usefulness and tenderest memories. This was written by Rev. Dr. Basil Manly, Jr. one of the founding professors of Southern Seminary. The Songs of Southern Zion: Confederate Hymnology is a much needed volume to rectify the void that has existed regarding the hymnology of the people of the South.

Appomattox, VA SBSS 2015 1517723531 First Soft cover New Georgia 12 pt.
Two volumes in one. First, biography of Randolph Harrison McKim. Second, sermons of McKim. Within this offering we find another example of the impossibility of divorcing Christianity from the armies of the South; but, we have a new twist on the story, for here we have an account of a soldier turned minister. McKim goes to war as a soldier, answers the call to minister to the spiritual needs of his fellow man and trades his rifle for a Bible. The rest of the story is about his faithful, but blind, horse "Charlie." Twelve sermons are included in the second volume.

56 Rumburg, H. Rondel Baptists and the State
Appomattox, Virginia SBSS 2016 1537130390 Second Softcover New Georgia 12 pt.
This is a Biblical, confessional and historical study of Baptists and the State by H. Rondel Rumburg. It calls attention to a neglected fact: Baptists have led this country in effective and godly civil disobedience, and the U.S. is better for that resistance. The great error today is that too many Baptists assume that the doctrine of the separation of church and state means the separation of Christianity and the state. Because ‘the God of eternity who created time rightly controls time,’ every area of life and thought must be under Christ. The great Baptist leader Isaac Backus fought against the establishment of any church but for the lordship of Christ in the state and in every realm. Injustice always results when men govern or are governed by laws made by men. This is an excellent book for teaching in Christian Schools and church study groups.

In 1868, J. B. Lippincott & Co. published a small volume entitled The Gospel in Enoch, which excited much attention by its originality. Dr. Henry Tucker's style of writing is polished and scholarly, racy, manly, pungent and strongly Saxon, and, like his thoughts, logical and lucid. It never wearies, but always enchains and sparkles.
